Tourist injured by wildlife in an Indian forest
While the massive mammal gave chase, Basavaraju was seen trying to flee but fell and his face-first into the busy road tarmac. The elephant caught up with Basavaraju in just seconds and stomped on him repeatedly, horrifying the onlookers as it terrified Basavaraju.
At some point, the attack by the elephant was forceful when it tore off the trousers and underwear of the man; it was a bum-mer to see.
After the terrifying episode, the massive mammal then hovered over the injured Basavaraju briefly and then trotted away into the forest. This was when the man escaped. Miraculously, the tourist survived the attack but sustained injuries.
After the incident, he was fined 25,000 rupees (around $285) by local forest authorities because he trespassed and provoked wildlife. They also asked him to record a confession video, where he admitted that his actions were a result of his lack of knowledge about wildlife safety rules.
