He explained that doing Anelka's chores did not go down well with him, looking at their age difference. He said:

"I was on Patrick Vieira, Kanu Nwankwo and Nicholas Anelka. To be perfectly honest, I didn't mind doing Vieira and Kanu but I felt a bit of a way doing Anelka's because he's like two or three years older than me.
"So I'm thinking he ain't better than me why am I cleaning his boots for? You should be cleaning mine; that's my mindset. I'm like I don't want to do that and to be fair to him, I went to him one day and I said, 'Give me your both I'm going to clean them'. He went to me saying, 'Jay don't worry, I clean my own boots'.
"And I said to him, 'Are you sure?' and he was like, 'Yeah, these are my boots, i'll clean my boots'. That's when I was like, now I respect him."
