He returned to the Andalusian club at the end of the season, not to continue, but to explore the options for his future and end his one-year association with the club.
Iheanacho and Sevilla agreed to mutually part ways on September 2 after the Nigerian forward failed to secure a move before the transfer window closed.

Kelechi Iheanacho joins Celtic
Scottish Premiership giants Celtic confirmed in an official statement that Iheanacho had joined them on a one-year contract with the option of another year.
According to Sky Sports, the former Manchester City forward was in talks with the Old Firm club over a move on deadline day, but the move could not be completed in time.
Nigerians are concerned over the length of the contract, which underlines his decline and how clubs no longer trust him to tie him down to a longer deal.
The Scottish fans are hostile towards the Nigerian forward after he rejected the chance to join them on loan in January and opted for Middlesbrough.

“All we can do is support this guy, but his recent history (as in several YEARS) indicates he will have little impact rather like the rest of this summer's signings. Hope for the best. Expect the worst. Our new motto.”
Manager Brendan Rodgers, under whom Iheanacho scored 43 goals and provided 25 assists in 143 games at Leicester, is confident he will bring something to the team.
“I know Kelechi so well and what he can bring to the team. He is such a talented player, with great ability, athleticism and work-rate,” he said.
