Victor Boniface’s New Salary Emerges After Joining Werder Bremen on Loan

Victor Boniface is set to earn a huge salary joining German Bundesliga club SV Werder Bremen on a season-long loan on deadline day.
Boniface looked destined to stay at Bayer Leverkusen this season after his proposed move to AC Milan collapsed during medical due to his history of ACL injuries.

However, SV Werder Bremen confirmed in an official statement that the Nigerian forward will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at their club.
He has a contract until the summer of 2028 at Leverkusen, but is unlikely to return to the Bay Arena after his loan spell at Werder Bremen ends.
Victor Boniface's salary at Werder Bremen
According to Sempre Milan, Leverkusen and Werder Bremen will jointly cover his salary, though it was not disclosed what percentage each team covers.
Boniface signed a new contract with an improved salary in January after his move to Al-Nassr collapsed when the Saudi club opted to sign Jhon Duran instead.
The former Bundesliga champions doubled his salary from €3 million per year to €6 million to reward his performance for the club since joining in 2023.
As noted by Capology, he currently pockets €108,846 (about ₦206.7 million) per week, making him one of the highest-paid Nigerian players in Europe.
AC Milan reportedly agreed to cover his full salary if he had joined the club, and also had an option of making his deal permanent for €24 million.
Boniface makes promise to Bremen fans
Boniface granted his first interview to the club's official website and applauded the fans for their excitement in welcoming him, which he promised to transform into performance on the pitch.

“First of all, I’m delighted with the support I’m getting from the fans and the whole club, as well as the excitement that the news of my transfer brought about,” he said.
“That’s the biggest thing for a footballer. I want to use this excitement to give them something back on the pitch.”
The Super Eagles star was asked about his personal targets for the season, but he claimed he doesn't set any, and is always focused on being successful with his club.
“I never set myself any personal goals ahead of the season, such as scoring a certain amount of goals and so on. I want to be successful with the team, and I want to win games. I’d love to do that with Werder this season,” he said.
Boniface reveals who convinced him
Legit.ng reported that Victor Boniface revealed who convinced him to make the season-long loan move to Werder Bremen on the summer transfer deadline day.
The striker confirmed that his former Royal Union Saint-Gilloise teammate Senne Lynen, who is at the club, convinced him to make the switch.
