As noted by BSN Sports, he shook off the injury scare and started Chippa's 3-0 home loss to Orlando Pirates, but could not save his side from suffering another defeat.

As noted by Soccernet, the referee Moses Mbhabeleli Kheswa awarded a controversial penalty in the 50th minute, with Chippa United two goals down at that moment.

Nwabali conceded another goal in the match to condemn Chippa to a 3-0 loss before the first FIFA international window of the season.
