Serie A rivals Inter Milan made a move to land the forward and launched a bid for the attacking midfielder; however, it was rejected.

La Dea are said to be tough when it comes to negotiations, and they will not allow their main player to leave for cheap.

Lookman was desperate to move to Inter, and the 27-year-old handed the club his transfer request in order to force a move.

Having failed to reach an agreement, the Nerazzurri have decided to move on in their search for other players.

Although Arsenal have also indicated interest, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that Tottenham appreciate the Nigerian and are working on a move to secure his services.

Atalanta have placed a £43million price tag on the star, as his existing deal is set to run until 2027. The Italian club are in a strong position to stay firm on their valuation.

Meanwhile, Spurs are desperately in search of a new forward following the departure of South Korean star Son Heung-min, who left the club.

Initially, they made efforts to sign Savinho from Manchester City, and the player was also interested in moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, Pep Guardiola's side refused to complete the deal at this time, so Tottenham are looking for other options.

Lookman is a left-sided forward and has showcased his qualities in Serie A over the last two seasons.

He helped Atalanta win the Europa League a couple of years ago, and this was their first major trophy for more than six decades.
