Liverpool Tag Star With Oshoala’s Nickname Amid Talks to Dump England for Nigeria

English Premier League club Liverpool have hailed tagged starlet Rio Chima Ngumoha with Asisat Oshoala's nickname amid talks of him representing Nigeria.

Ngumoha is already being touted as the next great forward after finding the back of their net in their 3-2 win over Newcastle United on Monday night.

The 16-year-old wrote his name in the history books when he scored a 100th-minute winner for the Reds inside at St. James' Park.

Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring in the first half with a low drive, before the match referee showed Anthony Gordon a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on Virgil van Dijk.

The second half saw plenty of goals; first, it was Hugo Ekitike who doubled the lead for the reigning champions.

However, Bruno Guimaraes headed home to reduce the deficit before substitute William Osula equalised with just two minutes left on the clock.

Referee added 11 minutes of stoppage time, and as it looked like it was heading for a stalemate, Dominik Szoboszlai stepped over a cross for Ngumoha to sweep the ball home, Daily Post reports.

With the goal, the youngster became Liverpool's youngest ever scorer in the English Premier League.

Ngumoha tagged 'Agba Baller'

After the game, the club shared a photo of the teenager and tagged him 'Agba Baller', a moniker synonymous with Super Falcons' striker Asisat Oshoala.

Born in England to Nigerian parents, Ngumoha has already represented England at the youth level but remains eligible for the Super Eagles.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are backed to retain their Premier League title, while Arsenal are predicted to finish second for a fourth consecutive season.

According to Opta Analyst, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will finish in third position, while world champions Chelsea are expected to retain their position from last season and finish fourth.

Despite investing over £200 million in their attack, Manchester are predicted by the supercomputer to finish in 12th position, and their start to the season suggests that could happen.
