Victor Boniface Acts Unbothered, Sends Confident Message After Failed AC Milan Move

Victor Boniface has issued a defiant message after his proposed move to AC Milan collapsed after the club detected an issue during medicals.
Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan agreed on an initial loan worth €6 million, plus an option to buy for €24 million if certain conditions are met.

According to Bild, his history of anterior cruciate ligament injury, which he has suffered twice in his career, during his time at Norwegian club Bodø Glimt.
The striker returned to Germany, and Leverkusen have not closed the door on his departure, with manager Erik ten Hag reportedly not counting on him.
He played in all pre-season matches, but was benched for ten Hag’s first Bundesliga match, which ended in a 2-1 loss to TSG Hoffenheim at the Bay Arena.
It is unclear what club he will join next and if he will move this summer, with no other club linked as they would be careful for the same reason Milan withdrew.
Boniface confident after failed AC Milan move
There have been lots of discussions surrounding the striker, particularly in his home country, Nigeria, where many have questioned his conduct on social media.
However, the Super Eagles striker appears not to be bothered by the comments about him in the media and had posted a defiant message on his Snapchat, spotted by Legit.ng editor Elijah Odetokun.
“Boss, you don't even look disappointed, with the news flying around, God will be your strength, sending you love,” a fan wrote.

“Go check my Norway record, why I go panic?” he responded.
As noted by Transfermarkt, Boniface scored 23 goals and provided seven assists in 66 games for Bodo. He missed 537 days and 90 matches for club and country in that time.

According to The Athletic, that was his second transfer disappointment this year after Al-Nassr preferred Jhon Duran over him during the January transfer window.
The Saudi Pro League side had agreed a deal worth €60 million with Bayer Leverkusen and offered the striker a three-year contract worth €15 million per year before the deal collapsed.
The Colombian forward only spent six months in Riyadh before pushing for a move away due to personal reasons. He joined Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce.
There were expectations that Cristiano Ronaldo's team would come back for him after Duran left unexpectedly, but both parties have turned their attention to other deals.
Leverkusen shares next plan for Boniface
Legit.ng reported that Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, shared the next plan for Boniface when he returns to Germany from Milan.
Rolfes confirmed that the striker will undergo physical therapy and admitted that he is fitter than he was previously, though Milan said otherwise.
