Chelsea dominantly won the match, bouncing back from going down first to win 5-1 against West Ham, managed by their former boss Graham Potter.

João Pedro, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez gave the Blues a 3-1 lead in the first half, before Moises Caicedo, on his 100th Chelsea appearance, and Trevoh Chalobah made it 5-1 in the second half.

Chelsea fans were worried about their star man throughout, and despite the win, they remain expectant of an update from their manager over his condition.

Maresca, during his post-match conference, explained that the England international came off not to risk an existing condition and will undergo tests.

“Cole in the last four or five days was not one hundred per cent,” Maresca told Chelsea TV.
“It’s a groin problem,” he confirmed. “It’s already the Palace game he was not one hundred per cent for, but he has tried to make a big effort for the club, for the team, for the fans, because he is really keen about the team.

His replacement, Estevao Willian, stepped up, providing a brilliant assist for Enzo Fernandez to score the third goal and was named the broadcaster’s man of the match.

Maresca was full of praise for the teenager, who was lively throughout his 77 minutes on the pitch in just his second Premier League match.

The boss also urged the Brazilian to improve because he lost the ball before his compatriot Lucas Paqueta scored a brilliant opening goal.

“He is very young and a fantastic player. I am very happy with him. But he also has to adapt because the goal we conceded came from him trying to make a flick in the middle of the pitch,” he said as noted by Goal.

The Blues will continue their trip around London in their third match, welcoming neighbours Fulham to Stamford Bridge in the early kickoff next week Saturday.
