The Nigerian forward is well-respected and celebrated in Turkey for his player of the season performance during his loan spell in the 2024/25 season.

He helped Galatasaray win the league and cup double, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in the process, as noted by Transfermarkt.

Cameroonian footballer resembles Osimhen

Young Cameroonian footballer Youssouf Adamou, who resides in Turkey, has become an internet sensation due to his resemblance to Osimhen.

Adamou has been living in Turkey for eight years, studying and playing football in the amateur league in Eskisehir, and dreams of going professional.

He shares multiple features with Osimhen, including a powerful right leg, facial features, blonde hair and now wears the striker's trademark mask.

Adamou has refuted claims that he is modelling his looks after the Nigerian footballer, claiming he had his blonde dyed hair long before, though his mum didn't approve of it.

“I'm not dyeing my hair blonde because of Osimhen. I used to dye it that way, but my mother didn’t approve. Then I decided to let it be my style. When Osimhen came along, they started calling my hair ‘Osimhen’s hair.' I said, ‘No, this is my hairstyle,'” he told Ekol TV, as quoted by Soccernet.

He added that his friends gifted him the protective mask as he prides himself as the Osimhen of midfield, admitting similarities with the Nigerian, but in a different area of the pitch.

“They compare me a lot to Osimhen. I think Osimhen and I are very similar. Our styles are a bit similar; he plays like me, but he’s more of a goalscorer. I’m also good at building up from the back. As they say, ‘Çanakkale is impassable,’ so I use that mentality to secure the goal to prevent goals,” he added.

He plays amateur football because of a rule in Turkey, which prevents foreigners from playing in the higher leagues, but he hopes to make a big break one day.

The resemblance has paved the way for him as he has been getting invites for interviews at Turkish media, which he hopes could propel his career.

He dreams of meeting Osimhen in person one day, whether in Eskisehir or Istanbul, where the Nigerian footballer resides.
