Victor Boniface: Super Eagles Star Set to Join AC Milan Days After Demotion

  • Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface is on the verge of joining Italian giants AC Milan from Bayern Leverkusen
  • The 24-year-old got demoted to the third-choice striker by former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag
  • The 2023/24 Bundesliga winner was on the radar of Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr before opting for Colombian forward Jhon Duran

Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface is reportedly on his way to AC Milan ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Nigerian international has fallen from the pecking order behind in-form striker Patrik Schick and new signing Christian Kofane.

The former Royale Union SG player struggled to feature in the pre-season matches, including the game against Grossaspach in the DFB Pokal clash under Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag opted for Cameroonian player Christian Kofane to replace Schick during the match.

According to Tribuna, the AFCON silver medallist has reached an agreement with Rossoneri and awaits the finalisation of the move.

Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is considering the Nigerian international as a perfect replacement for his striking options.

Milan sporting director Igli Tare has submitted an offer within the last 48 hours, as they are ensuring the deal scales through before the close of the transfer window.

Boniface scored 32 goals and added 13 assists in just 61 appearances, quickly becoming one of the Bundesliga’s most feared attackers.

The Super Eagles forward bagged the UEFA Europa top scorer as well as the Team of the season award in the 2022/23.

Meanwhile, according to All Nigeria, the 24-year-old trained at the Marbella Football Centre in Spain before resuming the pre-season, which has attracted elite athletes, including Real Madrid's latest signing, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Nigerian international was plagued with injury in the second half of the season, and as a result of that, he lost his role to Czech forward Patrik Schick before the departure of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid.
