The Turkish champions teased the striker's official announcement on social media and offered supporters the chance to live stream his flight to Istanbul on Wednesday night (July 30).

According to Transfermarkt, Osimhen is on the verge of completing a sensational move to capital giants Galatasaray on a permanent deal for a fee in the region of €75 million.

This would break the Turkish Super Lig’s all-time transfer record, currently held by Morocco’s Youssef En-Nesyri after his €19.5m move from Sevilla to Fenerbahce last summer.

Osimhen is set to sign for Galatasaray permanently, with a payment structure currently being negotiated after impressing at the club on loan from Italian giants Napoli last season.

Osimhen arrived in Turkey to a resounding reception from Galatasaray supporters, who were delighted to see the striker return to the club after a successful loan spell last season.

Videos circulating on social media captured legions of fans waving club flags, chanting the Super Eagles forward's name, and singing team anthems as he stepped off the plane in the city.
