The Nigerian women's national football team are still in a joyous mood after winning the country's 10th title through their incredible comeback 3-2 win against hosts Morocco.

President Bola Tinubu hosted the victorious Super Falcons at Aso Rock in Abuja on Monday, July 28, shortly after they arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport.

The former two-time Lagos State Governor bestowed national honours of the Order of the Niger on each player and member of the coaching staff.

The players were also awarded with apartments and NGN152 million for helping Nigeria win the prestigious continental title for a record 10th time.

Musicians like Flavour, Teniola, and Timi Dakola entertained the Super Falcons during the presidential dinner at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

Plumptre dances wild Makossa at presidential dinner

After the presidential hosting, the players headed to the dinner celebration, where defender Ashleigh Plumptre showed off her dancing skills.

The Leicester-born, who shone like a diamond during the WAFCON, impressed her teammates at the party, also captured in a trending video online.

Plumptre was hailed by her teammates as 'Oyinbo' for her legwork in hilarious commentary. Team media officer, Mary Akinsola, danced close by.

The 27-year-old was Woman of the Match in their 1-0 win over Botswana in the preliminary rounds, with her leadership and distribution lauded.

The former Notts County player received her first Nigerian call-up under Randy Waldrum in 2021, after playing for England at the youth levels.

What Super Falcons will receive after WAFCON

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had pledged a substantial portion of the prize money for winning the WAFCON to the players.
