Atiku Mentions Those Who Will Determine Outcome of 2027 Election

FCT, Abuja - Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not determine the outcome of the 2027 presidential election.
Atiku said that Nigerians themselves will ultimately determine the outcome of the 2027 presidential election.

As reported by Vanguard, Atiku’s Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, stated this in an interview in Abuja.
“The APC and PDP may have dominated politics for a while, but what is clear is that Nigerians are the real force, and they will determine what happens in 2027. The people will always remain, as long as Nigeria exists. The most important element is the Nigerian people.”
Ibe said there is growing enthusiasm among Nigerians to take control of their destinies.
He said all manner of groups have been aligning with the coalition.
Atiku’s aide added that individuals and groups outside the political class have shown support and commitment to strengthening the coalition.
Ibe maintained that the political dynamics ahead of 2027 point to a contest where the will of Nigerians, rather than the dominance of APC or PDP, will be decisive.
“There is strong support from well-meaning groups and individuals, many of whom are not even politicians, who are willing to partner with the coalition. Structures are already being put in place.”
Atiku Outlines How Next INEC Chair Should Be Chosen
Recall that Atiku Abubakar urged reforms in appointing the INEC chairman, proposing a voting system instead of sole presidential appointment.
He warned Nigeria’s democracy is at risk if courts keep deciding electoral outcomes, stressing the mandatory electronic transmission of results.
Atiku lamented low voter turnout in 2023, called for stronger voter participation, and urged shifting the election petition burden of proof to INEC.
Atiku’s ADC raises alarm over INEC voter data
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the ADC called the attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to what it described as “statistically implausible” figures.
The Atiku Abubakar-led coalition party has urged INEC to explain the figures in the first batch of Permanent Voter Card (PVC) pre-registration data released by the commission.
The ADC raised this alarm weeks after former minister Rotimi Amaechi alleged that INEC is working with the ruling APC to hijack upcoming elections in Nigeria.
