Breaking: Another Nigerian Governor Sacks Commissioners, Retains SSG, Others

The governor announced the decision during the Council meeting at the Council Chambers in Minna, the State capital, on Monday morning, September 1.

As reported by Leadership, he appreciated the SEC members for the services they had so far rendered towards the development of the state and wished them the best in their future endeavours.

The governor, however, said he has retained the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and other principal officers in his office.

Governor Bago dances to Tinubu's praise song

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that President Tinubu was endorsed as the sole candidate of the APC by the Niger state chapter of the party, and Governor Umaru Bago.

At the event in Minna, the Niger state capital, Governor Bago was seen dancing to the popular Rarara's Omo Ologo, a song singing the praises of President Tinubu.

The video generated mixed reactions from Nigerians, who expressed concerns about the situation in the country.

Borno governor sacks two commissioners

Legit.ng understands that Bago took this action weeks after Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state relieved two commissioners of their duties and announced their replacements.

The governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, confirmed this in a statement released on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

According to the statement, the officials affected are the commissioners for Environment, Engr Emat Kois, and Intergovernmental and Special Duties, Hon Tukur Ibrahim.
