Reno Omokri stands with Tinubu

He said:

“I see President Bola Tinubu as somebody who deserves reelection and the reason why is just very clear: This is a man, in two years, he has added $67 billion to out gross domestic product (GDP). It has never happened before in Nigeria. This was a country that used to record serious trade deficit.
"Right now, we've got a trade surplus from last year (2024), about 14 billion dollars. Now, you saw what the Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), said, 'he (Tinubu) stabilised the economy'."

Omokri continued:

"A lot of people don't understand this. They think that naira under Muhammadu Buhari was, I think, about N400 to a dollar. They don't realise that it was not the true value of the naira. The naira was being subsidised. The Central Bank of Nigeria was spending N1.5 billion dollars every month. And this was not money that we had, it was money that we were borrowing.

According to Omokri, Tinubu promised during the campaign for the 2023 election to do four things: devolve power to local governments, remove fuel subsidy, float the naira, and give student loans, which he has fulfilled.

He concluded:

"I see no reason why this man (Tinubu), based on what he has delivered should not be re-elected."
