As reported by The Punch, Ologunagba said the decision was made following the presentation of a report by the Zoning Committee, chaired by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri.

Ologunagba further stated that the NEC also expressed satisfaction with the level of preparations for the November convention slated for Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

”NEC recommended that the North and South should retain their current NWC positions.
“NEC also resolved that since the National Chairman of the party is zoned to the North, the PDP 2027 Presidential ticket is hereby zoned to the South.”

Is GEJ the Trump Card for PDP in 2027?

Legit.ng recalls that the PDP, battered, bruised with haemorrhaging supporters, like an old ship taking on water, has pulled out its most glittering ace, a comeback wish for former President Goodluck Jonathan.

With a steady mass exodus of loyalists to the African Democratic Congress, the APC, the NNPP, and other smaller parties, the PDP’s latest move is as desperate as it is bold: dangle GEJ’s name to spark hope, grab headlines, and perhaps, just perhaps, breathe life into a party on a political life support. It’s no secret why PDP is doing this.

The party has been reduced to playing second fiddle in its own supposed opposition role, thanks in no small way to the political havoc wrecked by the FCT Minister and immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who has unwittingly turned the PDP into a willing support arm for the ruling APC.
