Speaking at a reception organised in his honour by PDP members at the party's secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital, the governor boasted that he had transformed the state and would not allow anyone to take it backwards.
Governor Adeleke said that since assuming office in 2022, he has restored hope for the people and positioned Osun on the path to a promising and prosperous future. He urged the people of Osun and PDP members not to return the state to poor governance, but rather to sustain the momentum of the good governance his administration has begun.

Adeleke urged the people to continue mobilising for the exercise by reaching out to their friends, families, and neighbours. He called on his supporters to showcase the achievements recorded across various sectors, affirming that Osun would never return to its past. “We are light,” he declared. “We shall always overcome darkness.”
Governor Adeleke recently declared that he would support the second-term ambition of Tinubu but would not be leaving the PDP for the APC. The endorsement of Tinubu by Adeleke came after he met with the president and amid rising rumours that he was making an alliance with Tinubu to secure his second term in the 2026 governorship election in the state.
The PDP governor defeated incumbent Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2022 governorship election in Osun.
Oyetola was in the news recently after he reportedly stepped down in the 2026 race, following Adeleke's meeting with Tinubu.
