Breaking: ADC Suspends Top Lawmaker Indefinitely, Reason Emerges

Abejide suspended over anti-party moves

A statement by Kogi state secretary of the ADC Adaji John, revealed that the suspension followed Hon. Abejide’s recent meeting with party members in Abuja without clearance from the state leadership.

As reported by TVC, the party accuses the lawmaker of attempting to absorb the powers of the state chairman and secretary, casting aspersions on the leadership, and working against the party’s interest.

ADC in Kogi state cautioned Abejide, stressing that continuous disobedience could lead to expulsion as it warns other members involved in anti-party gathering to desist or face consequences.

Atiku, Peter Obi, others adopt ADC

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, resigned from the PDP, citing irreconcilable differences within the party.

Legit.ng reported that announced the adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political platform ahead of the 2027 general election, to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rotimi Amaechi, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and other influential politicians openly aligned with the ADC coalition platform, although several of them have yet to formally declare for the party.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the ADC is faced with an internal crisis as Nafi’u Bala declared himself interim national chairman, vowing to go against David Mark's leadership.

Bala argued that powerful outsiders like Atiku, Obi, and el-Rufai are hijacking the party without formal membership.

Bala threatened legal action, while calling on INEC for recognition, warning that ADC risks collapse ahead of the 2027 elections if the crisis persists.

SDP bans El-Rufai ahead of 2027 election

In a similar development, Legit.ng reported that members of the national working committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) expelled Mallam El-Rufai from the party.
