Lateef Ajijola, who was recently appointed as a member of the South West Development Commission (SWDC) by President Bola Tinubu, has expressed his appreciation to former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State for the nomination.

This was disclosed in a video shared on social media by Lere Olayinka, the spokesperson of Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, and ex-media aide to Fayose, in a social media post on Wednesday, July 31.

Olayinka described the gift as a "sacrifice" as it included yams, salt, goat, chickens and red oil. Some Nigerians have taken to the comment section of the video and commended the former governor for the moment.

In the video, the former governor was singing the praises of the Tinubu appointee and praying for him. In the video, Fayose prayed that Ajijola would reap the fruit of politics for staying loyal to him and showing appreciation for the appointment.

The former governor also prayed that all those he had worked out appointments for but did not remain loyal to him would experience sorrows in their homes. Speaking in Yoruba, the former governor said it is not that he did not have money, but the food items were a kind gesture.

Tinubu forwards names of new appointees to Senate

On Thursday, May 8, President Bola Tinubu communicated to the Senate, seeking confirmation of a total of 55 appointees for the South West, North Central, and South South Development Commissions.
