Former Classmate of Fish Magnet Releases Their Chat as He Reacts to His Tragic Death: "We Had Plans"

Daniel Okafor, a man who attended the same secondary school with Ifesinachi Onyekere, widely known as Fish Magnet, in Lapan, Kaduna, has expressed sorrow about the Anambra businessman's death.
In a Facebook post, Daniel, a forex trader, disclosed that Fish Magnet was his seatmate back in secondary school.

Ex-classmate reminisces on friendship with Fish Magnet
He noted that the deceased, who was the school's social prefect, was one of his few extroverted friends who 'adopted him as an introvert.' He knew him as Martins and not Fish Magnet at the time.

Daniel, who attached his chat with old Fish Magnet, said they had plans to further their studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (popularly known as UNIZIK), but weren't able to keep in touch closely after school.
He explained that the screenshotted chat between him and Fish Magnet was when the deceased informed him of his family's relocation from Kaduna to Awka, the capital of Anambra, where he was found dead on Sunday, July 27.
He prayed that those behind the businessman's death would face the wrath of God, expressing belief that he is in a better place. Daniel's post read:
"I never knew him as "Fish Magnet", Martins was my close friend, class mate and seatmate back then in senior secondary school, Lapan Kaduna. He was one of the few extroverted friends that adopted me as an introvert.
"We had plans of both going to Unizik to further our studies, but somehow we weren't able to maintain close contact after school as everyone got busy and went through different path.

Fish Magnet's family releases statement
In an official statement, the late businessman's family implored the public to give them the privacy to mourn.
They said that the tragic murder of their son happened on Sunday, July 27th. The family also appreciated the public for their support and prayers.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a businesswoman had released her WhatsApp chat with Fish Magnet before his tragic death.
She expressed pain about the young man's death and disclosed that she had bought fish from him for her customer in Canada.
The woman said she discovered the fish carton had been tampered with by a rat when she went to pick them up.
