Ian said:

"Our workforce is primarily immigrants. You can have all the children born in the United States, but if mum still can't work through the immigration system, and has an issue, the whole family says, 'we are not going to risk it because we don't want mum to get picked up.''

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) stepped up raids that have forced many families with immigration issues to stay indoors or cut their movements as much as possible.

One of the farm workers, simply identified as Lisa, spoke to CNN. She said every summer, they would go out and work on the farms, but not anymore.

She said:

"This year, we decided to stay home just to be safe."

Reactions as immigrant farm workers refuse to show up

@Hawkeye38

"I worked picking raspberries and crab apples every summer in Washington for three years starting from the time that I was 12 until I was 15 years old to earn extra money for school clothes that I wanted. I arrived at 7 AM and worked until three in the afternoon alongside migrant workers, they are the kindest, most hard-working, most caring and decent people I’ve ever known. These are GOOD PEOPLE!!! I’d trade every single MAGA American for them."
