The lady said the few times she was genuinely happy abroad were when a family member visited and when she was planning her trip to Nigeria.

She noted that her lack of happiness has nothing to do with having friends, as she doesn't have any in Nigeria, and yet was genuinely happy when she was in her home country.

She just couldn't understand why happiness had evaded her in the UK, and wondered when it would get better.

She said:

"Yesterday made it one year since I have been in the UK and I have thought about it seriously, and I don't think I have been genuinely happy here at all.
"Like, I can literally count how many times I have been happy here, and when my family member comes to see us, and when I was planning to go to Nigeria, I think those were the times I was genuinely happy.
"Like, I was happy from my stomach, and I don't know. I just thought about it. It is not about friends. It is not about company. Like, I don't have friends in Nigeria, and I'm mostly on my own. I like to be on my own, but still, I don't know. I am not just happy.
