A Nigerian lady is finding it hard as her landlord just increased her house rent astronomically, doubling the amount she used to pay before.

The lady shared her pain in a TikTok post, detailing how she got notified through the landlord's lawyer.

According to the lady identified on TikTok as @debbiesurprises, she just saw the letter at her door.

After reading the content of the letter, she realised that the house rent had been doubled.

She said the rent was N350,000, but now, she was asked to pay N700,000 before December 2025.

She noted that the house in question is located in Edo state, but the actual owner resides in the UK.

She lamented:

"No reasonable person will pay 700k in one year, for an apartment that is not worth the money. As a working class person where you go see that kind money, when I never chop belle ful".
