In a viral TikTok video, @stacyandpabloinmexico said her husband is from Mexico and that he voluntarily left the US.

She said her husband was sending money home, hoping that some of it would be used to renovate his childhood house.

She also said some of the money was supposed to be saved for him, just in case he ever had to come home from America.

However, when he returned, he met nothing. She said they are starting life afresh.

"Imagine working in the U.S. for 20 years, sending money home, & coming back to nothing but a childhood house falling apart. That’s our reality, & now we’re rebuilding in Mexico together. A home was never supposed to be built for him. Money was just asked to make repairs to the house, but some of those repairs never happened."

The US ICE stated that Lame violated the terms of his visa, and this led to his being temporarily detained by immigration officials.
