The 113-year-old church, known as the Kiruna Kyrka in Swedish, was originally located in Sweden's northernmost city, which is around 124 miles inside the Arctic Circle.
It became necessary to move the church after the town was threatened by expanding mining activities, which were threatening to swallow it.
There are about 23,000 people in the area. Many other buildings have been relocated in a similar manner.
In a video posted on TikTok by ITV News, many people gathered to watch as the wooden church building was driven away in a specially-built truck.
The journey of taking the church to a new location lasted for three days and 3km, the BBC reports.

"We need an applause for who ever brought up this suggestion in the first place."
@Dan Soare said:
"In 1987, an unusual feat of engineering took place in Alba Iulia, Romania, during the Ceaușescu era: an apartment building was moved to make way for a new boulevard, without evicting the residents. This project, spearheaded by engineer Eugen Iordăchescu, involved splitting the 100-meter long building into two halves and shifting them 25-55 meters to either side of the boulevard's path. The building remained connected to utilities and residents stayed inside during the entire process, which took under six hours."
@Angel_inco said:
"Older Nordic churches were built without using a single nail. They could be taken apart, moved in parts somewhere else and easily put back together. There is even one church like that in Poland, shipped from Norway in parts."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a Nigerian woman who is a prophetess shared a video on TikTok showing some people holding loaves of bread.
Everyone in the hall, which looked like a church, was holding loaves of bread and cans of sardines.
Also, the people there were in the mood of prayer as the woman stood before them and appeared to be ministering.
