In his post, @creative__ui detailed how he got a job with a Cameroonian woman who is into cryptocurrency and fashion.

His story goes:

"Earlier this year, February specifically. I was referred to a client by a friend. She's a Cameroonian and she wanted hiring someone as her PA, content creator and social media manager for her fashion company.

"My friend told her that he had someone who was into stuffs like that. She was well to do according to my friend and from what she posted online. She's into crypto and fashion.
"My friend advised I just grab the opportunity. Work and save enough money to come expand my creative brand."

Upon arriving in Cameroon, the young man said what he met was not what he expected.

He was told that he owed the company because a huge amount of money was used to pay for his relocation, and he had to pay it back.

His words:

"Secondly, when I got here, I was told that I'm automatically owing the company some huge amount of money for the expenses spent in bringing me over. Nothing like that was mentioned prior to me making the move.
"So that automatically meant my salary would be slashed to be paying for this monthly till I pay it off, meaning I won't be getting a full salary at the end of every month."

He said the amount of work he had to do was crazy and that he was multitasking.

He said:

"The work hours are too crazy and the work experience very terrible. Like we live and work in the fashion company. We're literally here everyday so we're working everyday. She just lives next door and the company has cameras.
"So we're working every single second we're awake. I am multitasking like crazy in a very uncomfortable situation. I'm 6 months in, and she's been to 2 countries but I didn't join her to any.
"My travel documents, undone, The crypto she said she'll teach me, nothing. The most place I've gone to is the market for errands."

The man lamented that his salary was slashed into two with one half going to pay the money used to bring him to Cameroon.

At some point, salaries stopped coming, and the woman was only giving him and other employees money for food.

He said he cannot bear it anymore, and he wants to return to Nigeria, but lacks the money to do so.

He said:

"I initially thought I could bear it for at least a year or max December then I return after saving enough to at least start over. But it just gets worse everyday and I'm genuinely tired. I'm asking the public for ≈105,000 CFA (about ₦300,000) to bring myself back to Nigeria."
