Lawyer advises Ibom Air to withdraw case

Shortly after the news went viral, it was reported that Comfort was remanded in Kirikiri prison after she was charged in court.

As Nigerians analysed the situation, the lawyer on his X page @DrCOmole shared why the case should be withdrawn.

He said:

“If I am to advise the management of IBOM Air, I will withdraw the court case filed against this lady. They can’t win the case in terms of reputation even if they win in court. While the lady appears culpable in some respect; so is Ibom’s staff as well.
“I have seen a video where the lady was blocked and prevented from leaving the aircraft by Ibom staff. So why is there a need to carry her out of the plane she was willing to leave in the first place. Investigation may well apportion blame to Both sides.

“In light of this; a court case is not the solution. Withdraw the case and use some form of ADR to resolve this matter. More training on deescalation techniques need to be given to all airline staff. For example, there are people who can misbehave on flights due to phobia and anxiety of flying.”

Reactions trail lawyer's view on Ibom Air

@Sire_Sammi said:

"Excellently put sir. A lifetime ban was a senseless decision just like the way they treated her. A professional body would’ve handled the situation so well that the lady will be reeling in regret for her actions."

@PreciousOlamma said:

"Ibom air should apologise to the lady and pay damages. She was provoked by the hostess and they're other videos where the hostess was rude in other flights."

@TundeMusaEkene said:

"God bless you sir. How can an airline be this vindictive? Prevent her from alighting just to drag her. This means their intent was just to flaunt her nakedness."
