A Nigerian man, Oluebube, has urged people to pay respect to and fear Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
Oluebube, a Ratel gang member, emphasised VeryDarkMan's influence, which attracted a crowd for Fish Magnet's candlelight procession.

On Tuesday, August 5, VeryDarkMan led a crowd of mourners to pay their last respects to the slain Ifesinachi Onyekere, popularly known as Fish Magnet, who was found dead in Anambra on Sunday, July 27.
"If you don't fear VeryDarkMan, you see today, fear him. I'm not joking. Why I went live was to tell you guys that if you don't fear or respect VeryDarkMan, please fear him today," he said in Pidgin English.

Fish Magnet procession: Man who almost died
In a video, the man said he almost lost his life at the procession as he was stepped on and pushed to the point that VeryDarkMan was his only saving grace.
He claimed that his slippers cut, which meant he had to trek barefoot for almost five hours.
"I trekked barefoot for almost five hours...I was stepped on and pushed to the point that VeryDarkMan began pitying me.
"...It got to a point VeryDarkMan had to drag and hold me...Any day I am not seen during such occasions, let it be known that I am protecting my life..."
He spoke highly of VeryDarkMan, detailing his efforts towards ensuring it was a peaceful procession.
The video of Oluebube narrating his experience was shared on Facebook by Loveth Omo TV and stirred reactions online.
