A Primary Four schoolgirl's report card has sparked an intense debate on social media due to her class teacher's remark.
Nelson Yvonne is a student of Manhyia Methodist Primary School and came 18th in her class, as seen in her result sheet.

In the report card shared on TikTok by @ohemaapretty79, the girl was promoted to Primary Five.
According to the report card, however, the teacher wrote that she had a calm character, but a lazy attitude.
Quite unexpectedly, however, the teacher also wrote in the remarks section that the girl should 'keep it up'.

This became the main point of contention for many netizens, as they thought the remarks were contradictory.

Certified educationist reacts to report card incident
Addressing the controversy surrounding the teacher’s remark, certified educationist Rebecca Ayeni-Jikunu told Legit.ng that such comments can deeply affect a child’s growth.
She also emphasised the need for training in empathy and communication among teachers:
“Certainly, a teacher’s comment can significantly influence a child’s learning ability and self-confidence. This underscores the importance of educators receiving training in emotional intelligence, as their words and actions can have lasting, lifelong effects on a student’s development.”
