In the video posted by TikTok user @granoladelightandtreats, the mother showed the cash gift and asked followers to share their opinions on the matter.
"POV: Your 5 years old comes back home with cash instead of party pack. Guys let's talk. What will you do if your kid comes home from a birthday party with a cash gift in place of party pack. Do you think it's appropriate?" she asked.

Commenting on the story, a Nigerian mother, Juliana Chukwuemeka, said she would not accept money as a gift for her child.
"I personally won't accept money o. Why money gift for a little child? What happened to toys? What happened to books or something educational? Money? No that's weird," she said.
