The social media critic said Obi would have accused Tinubu of victimising Ekpa because of his ethnicity.

Omokri stated this via his X handle @renoomokori on Monday, September 1, 2025.

“If Simon Ekpa had been convicted in Nigeria, Peter Obi would have accused President Tinubu of intolerance and victimising him because of his ethnicity.
“With alacrity and gusto, Peter Obi called for the arrest and trial of King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, AKA K1 De Ultimate, after his altercation with ValueJet. And the same Peter Obi said Nnamdi Kanu's trial "doesn't make sense." He wanted KWAM 1 in prison and Kanu free.
“Now, he refuses to comment on Simon Ekpa's conviction in Finland. Maybe he is in mourning!"

Breaking: Finnish court finally sentences Simon Ekpa to prison over terrorism

@EdJacob37574918

His excellency @PeterObi must publicly address the sentencing of Simon Ekpa. Silence, in the face of such a landmark conviction for inciting terrorism and violence, is not neutrality—it is complicity. If he fails to speak, let the record reflect that he tacitly endorses the atrocities for which Mr. Ekpa has been jailed.
Eastern Nigerian leaders 🇳🇬 must also speak. Their silence is deafening.

@ogunseye_tosin

I think the judge is very lenient with Ekpa. Kanu sentence must be the one that will Lock him up and the keys thrown into Atlantic ocean.

@michael_m1392

After serving in Finland, Ekpa will come and meet his Biafra President inside Kirikiri for a normal executive cabinet meeting...

Peter Obi will pretend as if he didn't hear the news because he don't want to offend his supporters (IPOB)
