Breaking: First Female FCT Head of Service is Dead, Details Emerge

FCT, Abuja - The first female and indigenous Head of Service (HoS) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Grace Adayilo is dead.

According to a highly placed source in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Adayilo suddenly passed away in the early hours of Monday.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued by either the family or FCTA.

Adayilo’s last official outing was on Thursday, August 29, where she represented FCT Minister Nyesom Wike at the G7 security meeting in Abuja, The Nation reported.

President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Adayilo as the first female and Indigenous Head of Service (HoS) of FCT last October.

Reacting to her death Danladi Jeji, president of the Original Inhabitants Development Association of Abuja (OIDA), who said he was collaborating with her on a projec, The Cable reported.

“Mama Africa and I were planning to celebrate Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, today, Monday September 1, 2025. Now, our creator has done it for us by calling Mama Africa home to be with the Lord,” Jeji said.

Ex-customs CG Aliyu Mustapha dies

Likewise, Legit.ng also reported that Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Mustapha, a former comptroller-general of the Nigeria Customs Service, has reportedly died at the age of 76. His death was announced by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state in a statement on Thursday, August 28.

Speaking about the deceased, Governor Fintiri described the former Customs boss as a man of service, duty and dignity, whose legacies will forever remain in the heart of the people of the state.

Governor Fintiri expressed grief and sadness about the demise of the former CG of Customs. His statement, shared on social media, reads in part:

"My prayers are with Lamido Adamawa, the Mustapha royal family and all who mourn him. May Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus.”

The deceased was an elder brother to the Lamido of Adamawa, who holds the traditional title of Sardauna of Adamawa, the person of Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu Mustapha.

Katsina Emir loses daughter

Previously, Leit.ng reported that Alhaji Abdulmumin Kabir Usman, Emir of Katsina's daughter, Khadijah Abdulmumin Kabir Usman, has been declared dead. The late Khadija, aged 35, was also popularly called Andijo.

The funeral prayer was led by Imam Mustapha Gambo. The funeral prayer took place at the Emir’s residence in Katsina state and was attended by hundreds of sympathisers.

This includes: Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the community. The governor further asked Allah to protect the three children she left behind.
