The Lagos state police command has refuted claims contained in a viral video alleging that a restaurant along Airport Road was being used for ritual killings and the sale of human body parts.
A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Wednesday, August 27, described the allegations as false and misleading.

He said the content was not only baseless but also capable of instilling fear among residents and damaging the image of legitimate businesses.
Police dismiss viral ritual claim
According to Hundeyin, the commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, immediately directed the deputy commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter.
The investigation, he noted, revealed no evidence to support the claims made in the viral recording.
“The investigation has conclusively established that the claims made in the video are false and without merit. The Lagos State Police Command urges members of the public to disregard the video, as it is unfounded and capable of causing unnecessary panic and disaffection among customers and Lagosians at large.
The Command encourages everyone to continue their lawful activities, including patronizing the restaurant, as no evidence of any untoward activity was found on the premises.,” the statement said.
The police also disclosed that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the individuals behind the video.
Residents with genuine evidence asked to come forward
Residents with useful information about the originators have been encouraged to reach out to the Command’s Complaint Response Unit through designated phone numbers, with assurances that all details will be treated confidentially.

While giving the assurance of safety to both residents and businesses, the Command urged Nigerians to exercise caution when sharing unverified information on social media.
It warned that the spread of such unfounded allegations can disrupt peace and tarnish the reputation of innocent persons and establishments.
The police further pledged to remain vigilant in protecting lives and property across the state and maintained that swift action will be taken against anyone found responsible for creating or promoting false alarms that could endanger public order.
