Southwestern Monarchs Show Support for Empowerment Initiative, Hail Tinubu’s Aide

Monarchs and community leaders in Ogun state have hailed the personal assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Special Duties, Yusuf Kamorudeen, for sponsoring a skill acquisition programme aimed at empowering young people across the state.
The initiative, which runs for one month, is organised by the Alliance for Kamosky, a coalition of friends and supporters of Kamorudeen Yusuf who share his vision of uplifting society by supporting the less privileged.

The programme was held in Ado-Odo earlier in August and was designed to train students and young adults in all 20 local government areas of Ogun state in different vocational skills.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Olofin of Ado-Odo, Oba Olusola Idris Adebowale Lamidi-Osolo, represented by Chief Quadri Gafar-Iseki, urged participants to take the training seriously.
“These skills have the potential to promote self-reliance and financial independence. They can create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to the economic growth of Ado-Odo,” the monarch said.
Similarly, the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, represented by the Balogun of Ilaro, Mr Ganiu Balogun, applauded Yusuf’s efforts. He encouraged beneficiaries to develop the skills that would make them self-sufficient.
During a courtesy visit to the Onigboko of Igboko in Lusada, Oba Itu Olasunkanmi Yusuf, the monarch described the programme as a visionary initiative. He noted that Yusuf’s investment in young people was a demonstration of his belief in the future of the country.

Beneficiaries urged to maximise training
Also speaking, the Iya Ewe of Ilaro thanked Kamorudeen for extending his philanthropic gestures to their community. She urged the participants to build on the knowledge acquired during the two-day training in Ilaro, commending the quality of products made during the exercise, including soaps and sandals.
The skill acquisition programme is expected to continue across other local government areas in the coming weeks.
Top Ogun monarch passes away at 89
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Olu of Arigbajo in Ogun state, Oba Timothy Oluwole Sunday Mosaku, passed away at the age of 89. The monarch, who was born in 1936, joined his ancestors after being on the throne for decades. Many hailed his reign for being significant for cultural stewardship, unity, and a deep commitment to preserving the heritage of his community.
According to a statement from his family, burial rites have been scheduled for late September 2025. A wake-keeping service will hold on Thursday, September, at the Olu of Arigbajo palace, while the interment service would follow on Friday, September 26, at St. John’s Anglican Church, Arigbajo.
Oba Mosaku’s journey in traditional leadership began with his appointment as Otun Baale of Arigbajo in 2001, before becoming Baale in 2008 and later being formally gazetted as Oba in 2010 by the Ogun state government.
