Over 4000 Applicants Battle for 98 Vacancies in the Top Northern Poly

Bali, Taraba state - No fewer than 4,489 applicants have submitted applications for just 98 advertised vacancies at the Federal Polytechnic, Bali, in Taraba state.
The rector of the institution, Dr Mohammed Usman, disclosed this while briefing the Governing Council at its 5th meeting held at the Rector’s Conference Room in Bali, the administrative headquarters of Bali Local Government Area.

Recruitment process follows due procedure
Dr Usman explained that the applications were received after the vacancies were advertised in the Daily Trust and Punch newspapers on July 2, 2025.
The application window closed on August 13, 2025, in strict compliance with federal regulations, Vanguard reported.
According to him, the management had ensured transparency throughout the process.
“We received a total of 4,489 applications for the advertised positions. The next stage is shortlisting, after which suitable candidates will be invited for interviews,” the rector stated.
Shortlisting and interview phase ahead
Speaking further, Dr Usman noted that applicants who meet the requirements would be duly informed of their interview dates.
“The shortlisted candidates will be communicated through their provided addresses or phone contacts. We are committed to ensuring that the process remains fair, credible and in line with established guidelines,” he assured.
Governing Council commends management
The Governing Council, in its response, praised the management team for adhering to the directives of the Federal Ministry of Education and the institution’s internal guidelines, Daily Trust reported.

Council members stressed the importance of upholding merit in the recruitment exercise, describing the overwhelming response as evidence of the institution’s reputation and the high demand for employment opportunities.

The Federal University Wukari (FUWUKARI) is a federal government institution located in Wukari, Taraba state, Nigeria.

NELFUND set to stop student loans during holidays
Previously, Legit.ng reported that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund announced on Thursday, August 21, that upkeep loan payments now operate by the institution's academic calendar.
NELFUND stated this in a statement signed by its Director of Corporate Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi.
According to the statement, NELFUND noted that students will only receive upkeep payments while the academic session is ongoing, and no further payments will be received during holidays until the next academic session.
