“These falsehoods are not supported by a single verifiable fact,” the statement read.
“They are calculated weapons aimed at derailing billion-dollar investments and denying Nigerians the opportunities they deserve.”
Multi-billion-dollar Kebbi project under threat
The campaign comes just weeks after MSM Group signed a $2.4 billion agreement with the Kebbi State Government to construct a three-million-ton-per-annum cement plant. The project is expected to create around 45,000 jobs and boost industrial activity across the state.
“To target this project is to wage war against the economic future of Kebbi State and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement added.
Diversified operations across key sectors
MSM Group operates across multiple industries including oil and gas, fertilisers, shipping, agriculture, automobile manufacturing, energy, and e-governance. Its chairman and founder, Muazzam Mairawani, has been praised for his vision and ethical approach to business.
Muazzam, who began his entrepreneurial journey in 2011 by tackling the issue of substandard fertilisers, is regarded as one of Africa’s promising young leaders. His leadership philosophy, “Once greedy, forever a loser” and “For every successful business, there must be great partners,” has shaped the group’s growth and partnerships.
Founder recognised internationally
Mairawani, who studied Business Information Systems at the University of Middlesex, London, was recently recognised by the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council with the SDGs Peace Ambassador’s Award.
The honour reflects his contribution to peace-building, governance, and sustainable development in Africa.
Call for Nigerians to reject falsehoods
Supporters of MSM Group argue that the Odudua Transparency Network’s claims are not only baseless but harmful to Nigeria’s global image.
“Smear campaigns like this scare away investors, kill job opportunities, and tarnish Nigeria’s reputation on the global stage. Nigerians must not allow faceless voices to drown out genuine progress,” the statement concluded.
