Before her passing, Ruth had been in a coma for days while Phyna struggled to get justice and proper care for her.
Sadly, Ruth eventually died, leaving many heartbroken.

However, Mike Premium, who claimed to have been handling the case, confirmed that Phyna never asked for such an amount.
He uploaded WhatsApp chats showing that Phyna requested her sister be flown out of the country for urgent treatment.
The media executive also emphasised that Ruth did not die a natural death.
In his words:
“On no occasion did we talk about N1 billion as a demand! False narrative!! I was the one handling this case underground since the news broke out, without social media. This was my direct appeal to Phyna and the legal counsel I provided to support her in seeking justice for her sister because she really didn’t know how to go about it.
"The first and most urgent demand was that her sister be flown abroad for emergency medical treatment, because it was clear from the beginning that her condition required advanced care that wasn’t available locally. But instead of receiving compassion and immediate action, she was met with delays, excuses, and now… tragedy. Dangote no get two head as long as I’m concerned; him no better pass me or the person he killed.

"The main focus of this matter has been diverted to betrayal of VDM,no longer for justice for Ruth’s death? Phyna has every right to demand for any amount she wants,it is none of our business. She made whatever decision was right for her sister in that moment. Why is Phyna who is mourning for her sister being dragged instead of Dangote company? Why are we daft in this country?"

"Why do I feel like someone was paid to create a false narrative? Because I don’t understand how there’s a person on a sick bed, but somehow the concern immediately shifted from the actual problem to something else."

"Someone just died, someone is morning her sister, a family just lost a promising young and beautiful lady, Una leave the main focus Dangote company, Dey busy Dey drag phyna, Dey depress her, Dey oppress her, is this how we are in this country, so dangote now is not in the picture anymore, we are busy talking about billions, wait first what if she demanded for such amount, anything wrong in that, make we focus where we suppose focus, leave phyna and her family to mourn their daughter."

"This whole thing is draining 😪, can they focus on the company and get justice for the deceased? See the things the lawyer listed. He should have focused on getting them involved to pay medical bills. Once Ruth was stabilised, then they would push for moving her to India for advanced medical care. The was much on that young girl. It's unfortunate."
