  • In response, VeryDarkMan denied personal involvement, stating that the strike was automatically generated by the system
  • Venting her frustration, Ogbeide went on a full blast, bashing VeryDarkMan and describing him as a manipulator

Content creator Izzy Ogbeide has publicly called out activist and media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) for allegedly reporting her YouTube video over copyright infringement.

According to Izzy, her video contained a clip of VDM’s content, which led to a copyright strike and removal by YouTube after it was reported by the activist.

Expressing her anger, she labelled VDM a manipulator and accused him of being driven by money like many other creators.

Izzy also shared a voice note VDM had sent her back in 2023, where he sought her help in monetising his social media pages after she had previously advised him to do so.

She argued that the copyright report appeared to be a betrayal, given their past interaction and her support towards him.

VDM addresses Izzy's claim

VDM, however, countered the accusations in a lengthy statement. He clarified that the copyright enforcement was automatic and not a personal attack.

He emphasised that the video in question was his own intellectual property and accused Izzy of resorting to lies and blackmail after the takedown.

VDM further explained that while he usually permits the use of his content freely on Facebook, he had explicitly warned against using his videos on YouTube due to its stricter copyright policies. Despite this, people continued using his content without permission.

He also addressed accusations of selfishness, highlighting the financial strain he endures to support his advocacy work. VDM stated he remains in debt despite the money he earns from social media and reiterated his commitment to social justice, not clout.

VeryDarkMan noted that Izzy Ogbeide’s rant online was simply because he failed to give her the attention she craved when she tried to familiarise herself with him.

Izzy Ogbeide, on her part, was vexed by VDM’s statement and took to social media to drag the activist in a series of posts, which included videos.
