Sophia Momodu, Davido's first baby mama, has gotten into a spat with some trolls as the musician is getting married in the US.

The issue began when Sophia posted a video on her Snapstory of an American man discussing dating a free-spirited woman, captioned 'Surviving a free spirit'.

The clip partly read, “Messing with a free-spirited woman is not for the weak. She is free, and she has no problem showing you that she is free. My brother, that woman doesn’t belong to you.”

A Snapchat user urged the mother of one to marry and learn from Wizkid's baby mamas, who keep a low social media presence.

“Go and marry. Please learn from Wizkid’s babymamas. You hardly see them post because they respect themselves.”

Responding Sophia openly wondered how someone could observe her every move if they didn't like her.

She also urged the online user to leave women alone as she would not be swayed.

“Sarah, I hope you, your family and everyone you love go blind, cos how are you watching me when you don’t like me? Please, leave women alone. Imagine thinking you can make me feel bad cos my voice/platform is heavy. I am the prize!”

Another Snapchat user, although expressing affection for Sophia, advised her to be aware of how she responds to others in order to prevent bullies.

“I love you, Sofie, but I think they will misunderstand this pose now. Also, please be mindful of the way you reply to avoid bullies and drama.”

Sophia replied:

“Sweetie, I dgaf what a bunch of brokies who are dedicated to misunderstanding me have to say. Those who matter don’t mind. Also, y’all need to understand I’m a bigger bully. God is just working on me. And another thing, don’t ever come on my platform to tell me what I can or can’t talk about. Also, it’s Sophia to you”.

In a third post, Sophia advised individuals who dislike her and her page to check themselves into a mental institution.

She mentioned that people had been crying on her DMs all day since she did not bleach her skin.

“Honestly, if you don’t like me and you’re on any of my platforms watching every single thing I do, just go check yourself into a mental institute, cos how? They’ve been crying all over my DMs all day on I didn’t bleach my skin. Are you people even okay? Is it by force to be yellow with weird-looking knuckles?”

Uzoamaka Nwachukwu, co-founder, Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation told Legit.ng:

"Your emotional well-being is shaped by many factors, including bullying and cyberbullying, which can take a toll on both your mental and overall health.”
"Social media, as a public arena, makes trolling and unsolicited opinions hard to escape. While you can’t control what others say, you can control how you respond. Building emotional resilience is key to protecting your peace."

She advised public figures to set clear boundaries, filter negativity, and avoid letting “noise define your worth.”

"If the pressure of online interactions feels overwhelming, it’s okay to step back. Prioritising your mental health is a powerful act of self-care," the expert added.
