- Yul Edochie has urged Igbos living abroad to return and invest in the South East, saying rejection in foreign lands is a spiritual sign
- The actor’s statement follows reported anti-Igbo sentiments in Ghana, drawing a conversation about identity
- The actor's comments, however, did not sit well with many netizens, especially Igbos, who chided him
Controversial Nollywood actor and self-styled prophet Yul Edochie has appealed to Ndigbos living abroad, particularly in the wake of recent anti-Igbo protests reported in Ghana.
The actor called on Igbos across the world to “return home and invest in Igbo land.”
Yul’s passionate call comes as many Igbos in Ghana reportedly faced rejection and xenophobic sentiments in recent days. But instead of advocating retaliation or protest, the actor offered a different path.
He wrote on Facebook:
“If you're facing rejection on foreign soil, it's not a sign to fight anybody, it's a sign to return home."

According to him, these experiences are spiritual signs—not just social or political issues. He believes they are a reminder that Igbos have unfinished business in the South East.
Yul described the situation as more than just a political issue—it’s ancestral.
He added:
“Home is calling. Our ancestors and spirits in Igbo land are calling us to return home and develop home"
He believes the South East is ripe for a new era of growth, and it’s only possible if Igbos across the globe return and build it themselves.
