Ebuka Emmanuel Hillary, best known as Ebuka Songs, a Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter, made it to the limelight in 2021 with his debut official album titled Midnight Cry, which became popular among the Gen Zs, who are Christians.
Ebuka Songs is among the gospel singers like Victoria Orenze, Theophilus Sunday, known for chanting and speaking in tongues in their songs, mostly centred around revivals.

In March 2023, the singer further gained recognition with the release of his hit single "I Will Pray." That same year, he joined Moses Bliss' record label, Spotelite Nation.
Aside from I Will Pray, Calling My Name is another song by Ebuka.

1. Ebuka Songs' worship session with Peller
The gospel singer ignited debate with his livestream with Peller, where they were seen holding a prayer and gospel session with other colleagues.
However, the highlight was the moment Peller spoke in tongues during the worship session, an action which did not go well with many Christians, including Rev Kesiena Esiri Henry who refused to let it slide.

Following the clergyman's criticism, Ebuka Songs, in a bold response delivered mid-service, questioned Rev Esiri’s intentions and criticised him for publicly calling him out.
The gospel singer not only defended his ministry but also spoke about his vision.
Ebuka's response triggered reactions from another gospel singer, Testimony Jaga, who stated that Ebuka’s former boss, Moses Bliss, would have remained silent on the matter and avoided online confrontations.
3. Ebuka Songs' sudden exit from Moses Bliss' label
In 2024, Ebuka Songs confirmed his exit from Moses Bliss' Spotlite Nation music label before completing his contract.
In an interview on the Open Up podcast, Ebuka said he left Spotlite to focus on his ministry.
Moses also addressed rumours of a feud with his protege, Ebuka Songs, stating that there were no issues between them.

Rocking a military-style attire, Ebuka left the congregation singing as he performed his hit song 'Calling My Name' at the event.
5. Ebuka Songs rewards his parents
In 2024, Ebuka Songs warmed hearts after he shared a video of how he surprised his parents.
The video captured the shock on the faces of the gospel singer's parents after seeing the car with pretty ribbons parked in front of their house.

Speaking at Akpororo's show in Ojo, Lagos state, Ebuka Songs recalled how his phone rang repeatedly after the comedian mentioned his name at The Experience 2023.

7. Cyprus pastor calls out Ebuka Songs
Legit.ng reported that Ebuka Songs was called out by a Cyprus pastor, identified as Ese, for breaking his side of a contract.
The singer was paid to perform at Pastor Ese’s crusade but failed to show up.
Ebuka Songs later refunded the money after being criticised online.
Ebuka is anointed but still needs grooming
According to RSK, an upcoming singer, Ebuka Songs needs to undergo grooming and mentorship.
"The guy is anointed but the character part of ministry, him never get that one at all. Him still need serious grooming and mentorship," he said.
