FCT, Abuja - The federal government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, gifted the winner of the TeenEagle global finals competition, Nafisah Abdullahi, N200,000 on Thursday, August 28.

Legit.ng reported that Nafisa and 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema, both from Yobe state, are students of the Nigerian Tulip International College, who represented Nigeria at the World competition to beat 20,000 other participants from 69 countries.
They emerged as World best in English language skills and overall debate competitions, respectively, at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, United Kingdom.
But on Thursday, the minister of education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, presented the award at a ceremony in Abuja.
Atiku awards scholarship to students
As reported by Daily Trust, FG made this move weeks after the Atiku Foundation rewarded the TeenEagle champions, namely Nafisa Abdullahi, Rukaiya Fema, and Khadija Kalli, with fully-funded scholarships following their outstanding performance at the TeenEagle Global Finals.

The girls, who emerged as global winners in various categories of the prestigious academic competition, were recognised by the Foundation for what it described as their “remarkable success.”
In a letter which was obtained by PUNCH Online dated, August 5, 2025, and signed by Prof. Ahmadu Shehu, the Acting Secretary of the AAF, the Foundation wrote:
“The Atiku Abubakar Foundation is delighted to learn of your outstanding performance at the TeenEagle Global Finals, where you emerged as global winners in various categories of the competition.”
Yobe gov to honour teens who won international competition
Legit.ng reported that Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, approved a grand ceremony to honour 17-year-old to honour 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullah Aminu and 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema.
The director general press and media affairs to the governor, Mamman Muhammad, confirmed this in a statement and shared further details about the grand ceremony.
Boy wins scholarship worth N24 million
Legit.ng earlier reported that a brilliant Nigerian boy has been praised on social media due to his academic prowess. The boy emerged tops in a mathematics competition and this won him many accolades.
According to education activist Alex Onyia, who shared the good news on X, the boy won a scholarship worth N24 million. He identified the boy as Agu Chijindu, noting that he won the Evergreen Schools Enugu Annual Mathematics Olympiad Competition.
NOA celebrates 17-year-old world best CIE candidate
Similarly, Legit.ng reported that the National Orientation Agency (NOA) celebrated Mmesoma Okonkwo, a brilliant 17-year-old student who hailed from Anambra State, on Wednesday, June 25.
Mmesoma Okonkwo was named "the Nigerian of the week" by the agency for emerging as the Overall Best in English Language in the prestigious Cambridge International Examination.
Mmesoma, who recorded A1 in all nine subjects in her West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC), has been described as "an inspiration to young Nigerians".
