Ibori donates N100 million to Igbinedion University
Ibori made this assertion in Abuja on Thursday, July 31, at the launch of ‘Chronicles of a Legend,’ the official biography of Gabriel Igbinedion, Esama of Benin.
As reported by The Cable, the former governor announced a donation of N100 million to the institution, N50 million to endow a chair in the economics department and another N50 million for the university’s development.
“For the chair in the economics department, I want to put a very meagre sum,” he said.
“If it were not for the economic situation, I would do everything I can to promote this university.”

He described the Esama as a man who has given his all for humanity.
“Esama established a nursery school, a primary school, a secondary school, and a university,” Ibori said.

“Mr deputy chancellor, sir, you will continue to have my support to develop the university,” the former governor assured.
