N75,000 payout and verification requirements

Each qualified beneficiary will receive a one-time ₦75,000 cash transfer after completing the card collection and verification process.

To activate their ATM cards, beneficiaries must present their registered phone number, National Identification Number (NIN), and Bank Verification Number (BVN) at designated collection centres.

In Gombe State, distribution began at Jekadafari Darazawa Quarters on Friday, August 29, 2025, with beneficiaries turning out to complete documentation and card activation.

NCTO teams have urged those who have received notification messages to promptly visit their centres for collection.

Nationwide rollout underway

Reports confirm that the ongoing distribution is not limited to Gombe but is being replicated across other states. NCTO officials explained that the cards are essential for secure fund disbursement and long-term monitoring of cash transfers.

“Ongoing distribution and activation of CCT-HoPE-RRR beneficiaries’ ATM cards is being carried out, and all eligible persons are encouraged to participate,” one official stated.

Linked to broader FG economic interventions

The ATM card distribution is one of several interventions rolled out by the Bola Tinubu administration to provide relief amid inflation and rising fuel prices. Other measures include:

  • N50,000 Presidential Grant Scheme to support nano-businesses across the country.
  • Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus rollout aimed at reducing transportation costs for commuters.
  • Youth Enterprise Support loans for small business owners and startups.
  • Food distribution palliatives through the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

Analysts say these interventions highlight the government’s focus on direct social investments as a way of mitigating the harsh economic realities many Nigerians face daily.

Looking ahead

While the initiative has been welcomed by many Nigerians, concerns remain about sustainability and transparency.

Civil society groups have called for regular audits and digital monitoring to prevent diversion of funds and ensure the money reaches its intended beneficiaries.

FG launches solar cooking programme for 4 million households

Legit.ng previously reported that the Federal Ministry of Environment has announced a nationwide solar-powered clean cooking initiative aimed at reaching over 4 million Nigerian households.

Partnering with CSR Solutions Ltd, the government seeks to eliminate traditional cooking fuels such as firewood and charcoal, which still dominate kitchens in rural and low-income urban areas.

This initiative directly supports national efforts to address household energy poverty, a persistent issue affecting millions, especially women and children who suffer the health impacts of open-fire cooking.
